The grind is the life but sometimes situations demand something from us that drain our energies and we fail to relax and compensate for the hustle. We get so immersed in getting things done that we miss the signs that work is extracting a heavy toll. All of us have to work hard but the stress can disturb your entire life and we need to take a break on certain points. These are the signs to make you observe that you are working too much and need to relax as soon as you can –
You get so tired after work that you can’t even do basic daily chores like cooking and buying groceries.
Abnormal sleep patterns
Those who are stressed out at work don’t have a sleep schedule. They sleep at different times and wake up tired.
Work is fine
When your friends and family ask you “How is work?” you just reply with one-word answers like “Fine,” and change the topic.
Your co-workers ask about your feelings
You will see a lot of concerned co-workers will ask you about how are you feeling. They see that you are burned out.
You don't socialize with co-workers
You avoid hanging out with co-workers after work because you’ve lost interest in anything related to work.
You live like a vampire
You arrive early always and leave late always. Light of the day becomes a distant memory but there is nothing you can do about it.
You hate mornings
You begin to hate every morning, ruing the fact that you have to go to work.
You fantasize about quitting
You fantasize about quitting your job and being free once and for all.
You hate explaining
Whenever someone comes to you and ask “What is it that you do for a living?” you just don’t want to explain as you are annoyed.
Disregarding your co-workers
When you get sick dealing with the same people and don’t care if you hurt their feelings.
You forget your last accomplishment at work
Not remembering the last time you were happy or achieved something at the office is a classic sign of burnout.
Constantly feeling overwhelmed
You feel overwhelmed even when you are not in a stressful situation.
You become cynical
You become mean, unhelpful, and unkind. You don’t care and become a liability for your co-workers.
You get angry easily
If you are losing your temper easily and more frequently, you need to seek some form of relief.
You constantly complain about everything to your partner and your family. It is a good thing to vent out your emotions but if complaining becomes a habit you will be a trouble for everyone around you.
